James C. Polk
James “Jim” Polk is President and Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Bank of Hawaii, assuming the role in April 2026. Mr. Polk is also a member of the bank’s Executive Committee.
Mr. Polk has over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry. He joined the bank in 1999 and has held a variety of positions at the bank, including leadership roles in Commercial Banking Group, Retail Lending and Deposit Products, Consumer Banking and Pacific Islands Division. In 2016, he was promoted to Vice Chair, in 2021 to Chief Banking Officer, and in 2024 to President.
Mr. Polk currently serves as a board member for Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA) and After-School All-Stars Hawaii, and is Emeritus Trustee for Hawaii Pacific University.
Mr. Polk earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program, as well as a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.
